The Role

Is it time to explore new challenges in your career? We're looking for a highly engaged, enthusiastic leader to join our Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO) team. As the Head of FFIO Performance, Analytics and Digital Operations, you will provide strategic leadership for several key functions within a large-scale operations environment. This role blends driving a digital operations strategy combined with execution. You will work in close partnership with business and technology teams across our own business unit as well as across the firm.

You will be an integral member of the senior leadership team comprised of Fund Operations, Global Middle Office, Risk/Compliance, Information Technology, Finance, and Human Resources. You will be instrumental in leading the continued effort within FFIO to leverage automation and drive scale. This role is responsible for developing and driving both short and long-term strategic solutions across Fidelity.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the Performance, Attribution, and Policy Disclosure operations teams supporting the investment teams, clients, marketing and oversight groups in understanding and responding to performance trends by delivering in-depth independent performance and attribution analysis and regulatory reporting.
  • Lead an operations strategy and performance delivery team responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the operations.
  • Developing and implementing operational improvement initiatives: This may involve identifying opportunities to streamline processes, reduce costs, and improve quality.
  • Provide decision support for the senior team using business intelligence & analytics including developing and reporting on operating performance metrics
  • Provide automation and other low or no code solutions to support efficiency and create adaptive governance to manage the risk working in close partnership with technology and risk teams
  • Manage a large scale multi year operations workflow initiative
  • Develop staff to ensure the delivery of quality, consultative expertise and accountability. Regularly review talent to ensure succession, continued development, and strategic skills are aligned with current and evolving business needs.
  • Align and communicate key messages from the senior leadership team to all audiences which include associates and business partners in a respectful and transparent manner. Influence with professional networks as a trusted Brand Ambassador, ensuring FFIO's place as a key talent destination now and in the future.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • A demonstrated collaborative approach to working with other leaders and the ability to work across all levels of an organization
  • Deep desire to continuously learn, implement new techniques, and deliver on innovative ways of performing business functions for greater efficiencies coupled with industry leading customer and client service
  • Fifteen or more years broad financial services operations experience
  • Fifteen or more years operations leadership experience with increasing responsibility
  • Global operations experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside the organization
  • Change agent, driven by a passion for continued transformation of a complex operating environment, including process re-engineering
  • Excellent communication skills and executive presence
  • Strong budget management skills and overall financial acumen for both FFIO and in best interest of Fidelity
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage through large scale change including knowledge of enterprise platforms for seamless execution
  • Willingness to take calculate fact-based risks and support risks taken by FFIO leadership team members
  • The ability to coach, mentor, and empower others to deliver on our vision, commitments, and goals while providing an inclusive and positive team environment.

The Team

As part of the FFIO Leadership team, this role reports directly to the Head of Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations. We have a steadfast dedication to supporting our business partners, and we are passionate about driving innovation in everything we do. The role will work closely with the Head of FFIO, the FFIO Senior Leadership Team, and will provide direct staff management at the Vice President level with extended staff ranging from analyst through director. The collective team spans multiple locations, including Boston, MA, Merrimack, NH, and Westlake, Texas, as well as global presence in Ireland, Hong Kong, and India.
