Job Description:
The Role
The Director of Communications Strategy blends deep understanding of paid, owned, and earned channel best practices, targeting strategies, creative insights, emerging technologies, consumer trends and relevant competitive activities to deliver communication plans designed to deliver effective, efficient, and resonant marketing experiences that speak directly to the interest, needs, and values of the audiences we serve. They also direct and coordinate the team in an account management capacity, driving execution of the strategy.
The Director will deliver communications strategy and execution for Plynk, a simple investing app for people at the beginning of their investing journey, as well as for Fidelity's Corporate Affairs group. Plynk operates out of Fidelity's Center for Applied Technology (FCAT) and Corporate Affairs covers government and community relations.

This individual will be a key steward for the newly developed communications strategy practice within Fidelity, driving excitement, partnership, and orchestration among internal stakeholders.
The Team
The Communications Strategy team is a new practice within Fidelity's larger marketing organization. The team blends elements of traditional account management with building strategic communications plans, by channel, to create more targeted, effective marketing efforts that deliver on business objectives and proven value-delivering the highest quality experiences for our customers and prospective customers. The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Strategic Expertise
• You demonstrate a deep understanding of business strategy and acumen and proven ability to translate that expertise into holistic communication strategies that drive economic value.
• You partner with the Product Area, Team Leads, and Customer Segment and Solutions Marketing team to identify strategic opportunities that will drive project understanding and spark ideation. You bring a valuable perspective on which data, inputs, or artifacts are most relevant for the task at hand.
• You are proactive in identifying the need for an insight, and where to source/uncover that insight. You demonstrate the ability to distill and prioritize insights into clear, actionable business opportunities.
• You are comfortable thinking critically and debating/advocating for certain channels and experiences across paid, owned, and earned touchpoints, based on knowledge of those channels and audience behavior.
• You demonstrate initiative, creativity and proactiveness when an established framework needs to be customized to achieve a business goal and brings forward a recommendation or solve.
• You have senior-level experience in business analysis, consumer insights, design thinking and marketing to develop communication strategies aligned with and in support of business objectives.

• You have outstanding relationship building and influencing skills with an ability to creatively handle differences of opinion and build trust in every interaction
• You demonstrate ownership of communications strategy deliverables and are comfortable translating relevant information to the respective business partners, elaborating on items as needed. You are comfortable enforcing process and allocating tasks/items to team members when appropriate.
• You have proven ability to effectively lead and navigate multiple large cross-functional organizations in the agile operating model to drive customer and brand value.
• You are comfortable flexing to a project management mindset when it is time for the strategy to come to life in the form of marketing assets: ability to manage creative process, influence business partners as the work is socialized, and work with Project Management team and Channel partners to stay on time, on budget, and on strategy.
• You have excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to effectively structure and deliver presentations, champion recommendations, and influence decisions at all levels of management

Fidelity's hybrid working model blends the best of both onsite and offsite work experiences. Having the majority of our associates work onsite is important for our business strategy and our culture.
