Director, Developer Experience Product Owner - Developer Tools & Automation

The Role

The Product Owner for Developer Tools & Automation within the Unified Developer Experience team is responsible for defining and executing product strategy across the developer experience. As a Product Owner within the Unified Developer Experience (UDE) Strategic Initiative, you will:

  • Define and evolve the vision, mission, and strategy of your product area.
  • Develop, refine, and execute product strategy with strong emphasis on delivering value.
  • Drive the development and delivery of tools, processes, and documentation to improve developer outcomes.
  • Work directly with product teams and other stakeholders across the enterprise to understand their needs, design and implement solutions, and measure comprehensive impact.
  • Partner with other Fidelity leaders to identify shared priorities based on an understanding of developer needs. Empower execution of these priorities with the cross-functional squads aligned to your product.
  • Ensure alignment of work with other key developer experience initiatives.
  • Raise the bar for excellence. Lead by example and drive adoption of best practices throughout the organization.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • 10+ years product leadership experience driving successful outcomes.
  • Deep understanding of DevSecOps principles and best practices.
  • Experience building best-in-class developer-facing products (APIs, SDKs, PaaS)
  • Demonstrated ability to work and lead in an agile team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence others.
  • Strong understanding of software development principles and practices.
  • Ability to explain complex problems and solutions to audiences of varying technical depth.
  • Ability to find data-driven insights in spaces with imperfect information, blending data with informed intuition to determine priorities.
  • Ability to identify, collect and analyze data to measure the impact of the work.
  • Proven track record of effective partnership with teams across levels and organizations to achieve business objectives.
  • Active interest in the technologies and trends shaping the developer experience today.
  • Proactive self-starter. Extended curiosity, mindset of continuous personal growth.
  • Dedication to excellence in communication, collaboration, ownership, and delivery.

The Team

The Unified Developer Experience (UDE) Strategic Initiative is a first-of-its-kind effort that is focused in improving the effectiveness of the technology associates and their job satisfaction, to accelerate their ability to contribute and deliver value for our customers. The Initiative's research and analysis provided a rich source of material identifying roadblocks and friction areas that we are addressing through transformative changes to governance, standards, transparency, discoverability, stakeholder input and continuous feedback.
