The Role
Are you passionate about data and helping leaders apply it to make informed strategic decisions? The Director Technology Strategy & Planning role is a data driven role that allows you to apply data models to strategic decision making, and leading a team of data analysts to manage a rapidly evolving set of analysis asks. As part of the Strategy & Planning COE within Fidelity Technology Strategy & Planning team, the Director Technology Strategy & Planning will leverage strategic, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to support the strategic planning process. You will partner with other teams within Enterprise Technology and across Fidelity Technology to uncover insights, inefficiencies, and misalignments within the portfolio and deliver views/data to leaders necessary to drive change. Key abilities include dissecting data models to help answer strategic questions, thinking outside the box, and enhancing the data through a strategic lens.

This role is highly analytical and requires delivery of results as both an individual contributor and team leader, and through influence in a highly matrixed, fast-paced, test and learn environment.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years of related work experience.
- Demonstrated exceptional capabilities in data analysis and modeling
- Ability developing and delivering clear and compelling written communications
- Exceptional management, analytical, communication, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience in both leading teams and working across multiple groups as a contributor
- Proven strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and articulate connections across separate, but related concepts
- The ability to represent large complex problems and solutions at the right level for senior consumption and decision making
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Intellectual curiosity with a strong desire to understand key trends across technology, both within and outside of Fidelity, and apply learnings locally
- Proven track record of collaborating to build consensus across multiple levels of the organization
- Self-starter with strong performance orientation and a 'no surprise' approach
- Comfort with complexity and ambiguity
- Design thinking mentality
- Proficient experience database querying, data analysis, data modeling and data visualization using tools such as Power BI, SQL, Oracle, Snowflake, Postgres.
- Experience with Jira Align, TBM, or other portfolio management tools and data.
- Technical understanding of domain fundamentals, strategies, and objectives in order to support domain leader(s) in annual and quarterly planning cycles
- Influencing leadership on key decisions with clear and concise recommendations derived from data analysis
- Establishing trust and credibility to drive alignment across Fidelity Technology and business strategies via an enterprise-wide strategic plan that supports Fidelity objectives
- Assessing progress against Fidelity Technology goals and monitoring key performance indicators to provide insights about the effectiveness of the Fidelity Technology (or individual domain) strategies
- Maintaining integrity of and adherence to routines, structure and coordination to ensure execution of Fidelity Technology strategy
- Optimizing the operating model to maximize scale and efficiency
