The Role
Are you interested in leading both people and process on a developing operational team? Do you have a strong knowledge of financial reporting requirements for private partnerships following investment company GAAP? The Director, Alts Shareholder Reporting, Financial Statements Production role manages a team that delivers accurate, timely financial reports required for investors across a growing number of products with diverse structures, asset classes and investment strategies. The role will ensure Fidelity's regulatory filings, including 34Act and 40Act public company and offshore reporting, are accurate, timely and adhere to GAAP and other relevant accounting standards. Your functional and technical area expertise will help you to lead and influence the team, resolve production issues, and implement process improvements aimed at increasing efficiency and quality. You will engage closely with the alternative accounting team and the products' external auditors in overseeing the annual financials and audit cycle.

You will be part of a team dedicated to alternative products and focused on identifying short and long-term processes, controls, and technology solutions to support operational proficiency on new and evolving products. You will think and work across Fidelity partnering with the rest of the Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO) organization and collaborate with business partners in Asset Management including relevant investment divisions, the Treasurer's Office and Compliance, Risk & Business Operations.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 10+ years of financial services experience with a mutual fund operation, custodian bank or asset manager with a focus on financial reporting.
- Proven track record of team building, people management skills (hiring, training, motivating, managing performance).
- Advanced technical knowledge of alternative investment classes (e.g., direct loans, real estate, digital currency, fund-of-funds) as well as relevant accounting and reporting standards (US GAAP).
- Working knowledge of risk frameworks and ability to design and oversee processes that ensure a strong control environment.
- Ability to work with all levels of management and make high impact decisions quickly and accurately.
- Strong understanding of workflows and requirements of internal and external business partners and system applications.
- Innovation attitude - ability to identify and drive forward new ways to improve current processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills and strong presentation capability.
- Proficiency in various PC software applications (e.g., MS Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Advanced excel skills and experience developing light automation solutions for financial reporting preferred.
- CPA or MBA preferred.

Our team is part of the Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO) organization. In fact, we're the largest service line within FFIO and are responsible for producing and distributing financial statements, prospectuses, and other fund and legal documents to our customers and filing them with the SEC. Doing this in the smartest and most effective way is more important than ever as we are in the midst of implementing Fidelity's new and alternative investment products, new and changing regulations, and a brand new technology platform that will transform the way we work.
