Job Description:
As a key member of Fidelity's Engineering Operations team, you will oversee, manage, and implement all critical maintenance activities and be directly responsible for the Uptime of the facility or campus.
The Data Center Maintenance Engineer shares expertise and guidance for the Engineering department to maintain all HVAC, mechanical equipment, and Generators on campus. The Engineering group is a Mission Critical department, that all business units on the campus depend on for business continuity!
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Licensed Electrician or HVAC, pipefitter, plumbing credentials, or EPA certification.
- The ability to work shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Demonstrates the ability to install, repair and maintain mechanical and plumbing systems in compliance with standards, codes, and generally accepted industry practices.
- You are motivated by knowing the work you have done is critical for various components that have tremendous business impact for Fidelity.
- You will be an enthusiastic team member on a team of 8 engineers. You will be a part of the team by continuously setting the standard in terms of engineering excellence, while facilitating superior performance, workplace maintenance excellence and team coherence.

The Value You Deliver
- Comprehensive understanding of Electrical or HVAC and Mechanical industry standards, protocols, installations, and best trade practices, along with heating and cooling, server, database, and network infrastructure knowledge, in large-scale, enterprise Data Center facility.
- Performs all preventive and remedial maintenance work on building systems to assure critical Electrical distribution, UPS and generator systems, and cooling, heating, and humidification requirements are met with minimal adverse business impact.
- Demonstrates the ability to monitor multiple building systems, correcting deficient performance through BAS adjustments, on-site remedial maintenance and effective emergency response actions when required.
- Direct and assist as necessary, vendors/contractors performing remedial repair activities.
- Demonstrates the ability to work with and provide assistance to the engineering staff.
- Uses tools, processes, procedures, and notifies/advises superiors as appropriate to ensure the consistent flow of information and activities.
- Complete daily log entries / update engineering staff via email.
- Assist with all department projects, plans and improvements.
- Support Fidelity's ISO-14001 Environmental Management System, ISO-27001 Information Security Management and SSAE-16/18 regulatory reporting requirements
- Demonstrates ability to switch to standby generators and bypass UPS systems when an electrical alarm or failure occurs, consistent with procedures, communicating all actions taken through the critical issue process.
- Finishing the critical maintenance on time and with attention to detail.
