Position Description:

Develops quantitative techniques, models, and tools to support and strengthen the introduction of new products and strategies focusing on fixed income and multi-asset class securities. Develops and enhances the creation of security-based indices, multi-asset class products and strategies, using Python and relational databases. Builds robust quantitative tools to aid all aspects of portfolio analysis, construction, and evaluation. Measures, attributes, and monitors portfolio risks and returns. Leverages Tradeweb, MarketAxess, ICE, and similar portfolio and analytics platforms to contribute to high-caliber invests.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops a variety of strategies that span the spectrum from rule-based to those results from complex optimization or factor-based considerations.

  • Maintains and improves infrastructure related to the investment process.


  • Collaborates closely with other investment and technology professionals within the division.


  • Explains complex quantitative concepts to non-technical people.


  • Develops, articulates, and effectively communicates investment recommendations supported by a comprehensive and thoughtful research process.


  • Informs investment decisions by analyzing financial information to forecast business, industry, or economic conditions.


  • Evaluates and compares the relative quality of various securities in a given industry.


  • Recommends investments and investment times to companies, investment firm staff, or the public, and presents oral or written reports on general economic trends, individual corporations, and entire industries.


  • Conducts quantitative analyses of information affects investment programs of public or private institutions.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Financial Engineering, Engineering, Accounting, Economics, Quantitative and Computational Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a AM Quantitative Analyst II (or closely related occupation) performing quantitative analysis supporting portfolio management and trading desks within an asset management and investment products environment.

Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Financial Engineering, Engineering, Accounting, Economics, Quantitative and Computational Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a AM Quantitative Analyst II (or closely related occupation) performing quantitative analysis supporting portfolio management or trading desks within an asset management and investment products environment.

Or, alternatively, PhD (or foreign education equivalent) in Financial Engineering, Engineering, Accounting, Economics, Quantitative and Computational Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or a closely related field and no experience.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") processing and aggregating market data from Bloomberg QMGR and TRACE; and building statistical models using SQL and Python to estimate ex-ante cost to trade fixed income securities.


  • DE evaluating credit risk, current bid-offer volumes, costs to trade, and overall portfolio positioning constraints; and building optimization modules in Python to recommend potential trades for portfolios.


  • DE building risk monitoring tools using Python, Dash, SQL, and Excel to analyze and report the overall credit and liquidity profile of portfolios of fixed income securities.


  • DE building reports to assess execution quality of trades, implementation costs and its impact to fund performance using Python, Dash, and SQL.
