The Warehouse Shift Manager is an integral part of the Famous Supply Distribution Center Operations team. The Shift Manger reports directly to the Warehouse Manager. Responsibilities include but are not limited to safely and effectively leading all warehousing activities such as receiving, put-away, picking, packing, staging, loading and unloading, inventory management, equipment and facilities management, problem solving, coaching and developing direct and indirect reports, and upholding a strong culture that allows all team members to thrive! This role requires a strong leader that will set clear expectations, drive accountability, and help create an environment where everyone will thrive.

Note: Famous Supply Warehouse Associates will handle large products such as water heaters, furnaces and showers.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Shift:  3:30pm - 12:00am (Midnight)
NOTE:  Training will be conducted on 1st shift

  • Provide leadership to safely and effectively complete all required tasks during assigned shift
  • Train Team Leads and Associates on safety, compliance, efficiency, and all functional areas of the DC that lead to accuracy and consistency
  • Establish team goals and work with Associates to achieve and exceed their performance goals
  • Set clear expectations and provide positive and constructive feedback in an uplifting way
  • Lead by example to continuously improve all DC operations
  • As needed, operate all equipment safely to meet or exceed shift goals
  • Ensure that facilities are maintained, clean, safe, and all hazards or needed repairs are documented and communicated immediately
  • Identify areas for operational improvement and strategize solutions
  • Meet and exceed operational goals for safety, accuracy and productivity rates
  • Provide exceptional customer service that exceeds expectations to internal and external customers as applicable
  • Complete all project work that is assigned
  • Lead with integrity and uphold all company values and cultural principles
  • Take ownership of new WMS system learning to train Associates consistently and accurately
  • Assist in implementation of automated picking system, training, and go live
  • Act as a Change Agent always. Be adaptable to trying new processes and training all Associates impacted
  • Implement cross training program to enhance operational efficiencies and identify future leaders

Note: Warehouse equipment includes but is not limited to pallet jacks, dock plates, floor scrubber, forklift, clamp truck, basaloid, turret truck, order picker, pallet trucks scissor lift, and reach truck

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Warehouse Supervisory position
  • Ability to lead with a servant’s heart
  • Strong communication

  • Warehouse experience
  • Understanding of warehouse location system management
  • RF Scanner experience
  • Equipment operation experience
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand on your feed the majority of an 8-hour day
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Process improvement
  • General computer and outlook (email) skills
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Secondary education, training, certifications
Preferred Experience and Skills:
  • 3-5 years Warehouse Manager positions
  • Associates level degree or higher
  • WMS system cutover experience
  • ERP systems experience
  • Understanding of building an operation from start to full go-live
  • Automated picking system exposure
  • Turret truck experience
  • Building industry experience and product knowledge
  • Leadership development training background
  • Experience with voice to pick systems
