Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to perform analytical work and research for our technical accounting group. This role involves managing complex financial accounting and analysis related to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Regulatory Accounting Principles (RAP). The successful candidate will be responsible for researching and assisting with accounting guidance based on authoritative literature and pronouncements, providing technical accounting and finance expertise on a wide range of issues, and offering guidance to less experienced analysts and team members.

Key Responsibilities
•    Assist with the implementation of new accounting pronouncements and conduct accounting research related to financial statement presentation and disclosures.
•    Work with and provide analysis to external auditors on emerging accounting issues and reporting matters.
•    Support the identification of process improvements and assist with their implementation.

Accounting Research and Policy
•    Provide accounting guidance on related matters.
•    Research current and emerging accounting issues and implement related accounting policies and procedures.
•    Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory accounting.
•    Prepare accounting analysis and whitepapers.
•    Analyze business transactions and propose accounting treatment with supervision.

External Reporting
•    Provide information for the preparation of external financial reports in compliance with SEC and other regulatory reporting requirements.
•    Prepare drafts of financial statements and footnotes.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
•    Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
•    3+ years’ experience in auditing, financial accounting, and/or financial reporting.

Preferred Qualifications
•    MBA.
•    Financial Reporting/Public Accounting experience.
•    CPA or two years of experience in public accounting.
•    Experience in continuous improvement and process improvement.
•    Experience with large ERP systems.
•    
Other Requirements
•    Comprehensive understanding of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
•    Experience with a broad range of technical accounting and reporting requirements.
•    Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
•    Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and in teams.
•    Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
•    Strong oral and written communication skills.
•    Ability to concisely analyze, summarize, and present financial information to various management levels.
•    Ability to respond quickly to changing customer requirements and business changes.
•    Willingness to work overtime during peak reporting periods and flexibility in working hours.
•    Willingness to perform emergency or storm assignments as needed.
•    Positive engagement within and across functional areas.
