As a Risk & Control Business Partner, you will support our Senior Risk and Control Business Partner in the first line of defence. Your role is crucial in helping teams and small projects manage risks and implement control environments. You will be a bridge between operational teams and risk/compliance SMEs, ensuring that risk practices are practical, relevant, and aligned with our overall strategy.

This is hybrid role reporting into the Director of Risk & Control Operations

Work that matters - What you'll do

  • Risk Identification: Collaborate with departments to manage risks, establishing a balanced control environment.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations, including the FCA's Consumer Duty.
  • Customer Outcomes: Challenge the business to ensure customer outcomes are central to all propositions.
  • Collaboration: Liaise between risk and control departments and business units, promoting effective communication and best practices.
  • Training and Awareness: Support the delivery of risk management training programs.
  • Risk-Based Decision Making: Help provide a comprehensive view of risk exposures to support informed decision-making.
  • Issue Resolution: Help resolve risk and control issues within teams.
  • Reporting: Support regular updates on risk management activities to senior leadership.

Experience and Skills

What you'll need to bring to the role & Experian

  • Business & Risk Integration: Familiarity with mapping business processes, integrating risk management into decision-making, and building relationships with departments.
  • Risk Management Expertise: Knowledge of assessing risks, with an understanding of risk management principles and practices.
  • Regulatory & Internal Policy Compliance: Awareness of industry regulations and governance structures.
  • Communication & Collaboration: ability to conduct training sessions, and deliver insightful reports.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify risks and implement effective controls.
  • Change Management: Experience in managing projects and assessing risks associated with operational changes.
