Role summary:

You will oversee and accountable for the payroll processing for APAC region, ensuring efficient and accurate payroll operation and compliance with statutory regulations. This position will have professional career development opportunity with regional exposure MNC environment. Is your chance to help lead transformation, digitalization and automations of transactional processes with stakeholders across different regions.

You will report to the Regional Payroll Sr. Manager. This role is required to refine and strengthen Payroll operating rhythm while concurrently manage stakeholders and the team's continuous improvement projects.

About The Role:

Payroll Review and Approval

  • Oversee daily payroll operations, ensuring all payroll transactions are processed and approved promptly.
  • Manage KPI & SLAs, queries, and reporting deadlines with a focus on.
  • Conduct reviews of payroll calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies & external regulations.
  • Implement and maintain payroll controls to prevent errors and discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll data with other business processes.

Continuous Improvement (CI) (30%)

  • Demonstrate and continuous improvement mindset, coordinating improvement projects across APAC to enhance operational efficiency and compliance with local tax and labor laws.
  • Lead CI projects to improve payroll processes, applying technology and best practices to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Focus on automation, standardization, and the implementation of robotic process automation (RPA) to improve payroll operations.
  • Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to identify and eliminate inefficiencies, ensuring high-quality payroll services.

Payroll Processing

  • Handle payroll processing for small payroll, aiding understanding and CI projects.
  • Be the backup for payroll processing during emergencies.

Others

  • Stakeholder Management: Cultivate relationships with stakeholders and third-party vendors, ensuring performance standards and compliance requirements are met. Conduct quarterly reviews with stakeholders to assess performance and address any issues.(HR, Finance, COE, etc)
  • Escalation Management: Serve as the first contact for escalated payroll issues, resolving them swiftly.
  • Audit Accountability: Oversee payroll, tax, and statutory audits, ensuring preparation and compliance
  • Business Continuity Planning: review BCP processes to ensure readiness and in payroll operations.
  • Documentation Review: Conduct regular reviews of payroll documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Team Engagement: Motivate team members, providing guidance on daily operations and encouraging a culture of knowledge sharing.


Qualifications

  • Advanced Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in HR, Finance, Statistics, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum 6+ years of extensive experience in multi-country payroll practices within a multinational corporation (MNC)
  • Track record in managing payroll processing across multiple countries, with specific experience in Australia, India, and China being a significant advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and coaching teams, with a preference for candidates who have held senior roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll practices, compliance, and regulatory requirements specific to the APAC region.
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma, RPA, Macros, Tableau, automation tools, and GenAI .
  • Experience in project management and leading programs to go live in continuous improvement projects.
