Summary
You will manage a skilled team responsible for revenue recognition activities for month-end close, including contract review, revenue decision engine set-up, balance sheet reconciliations, and follow-up on investigations according to IFRS 15. This ensures the financial statements reflect the impact following Corporate Accounting procedures.
You will be part of the Global Finance Services Leadership Team and report to the Accounting Manager. You will hold a fiduciary responsibility for the accuracy of the Financial Statements.
Main Responsibilities
- Month-End & Year-End Close: Leads the Revenue Recognition close processes, being a content expert and guiding the team on related matters.
- Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Responsible for all Balance Sheet account reconciliations for Corporate and countries under management.
- Partner Management: Manages monthly reviews with regional partners, enhancing relationships and promoting collaboration between GFS and third parties.
- Process Improvement & Automation: Advocates for process improvements, automation projects, enhanced controls, and standardization to benefit GFS teams.
- Team Development & HR Management: Recruits, coaches, and evaluates team performance, while developing a high-performing team with clear progression and succession plans.
- Compliance & Auditing: Ensures compliance with financial controls, coordinates with external and internal auditors, and participates in month-end and year-end closing activities.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field; a Master's degree in a relevant discipline as an ideal.
- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and IFRS15 treatment of revenue recognition.
- Familiar with accounting systems (Oracle).
- Advanced English level
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in similar roles with a finance background or qualification.
- Experience managing teams and developing resources in a Shared Services environment with both NA & LATAM and managing transformation processes in a Finance shared service environment.
Ideal requirements:
- Experience with audit processes.
- Knowledge/Certifications of continuous improvement methodologies.
- Power BI or Tableau experience.
