Position Overview
The Principal HR Business Partner works with key leaders to develop and implement organization-specific initiatives that are consistent with the overall People Strategies. Additionally, the Principal HR Business Partner will play a key role in supporting successful enterprise initiatives to drive overall unit effectiveness and transformative change. This role is responsible for implementing programs and processes with a special emphasis on creating a performance-based culture and driving functional initiatives. This role will be an integral part of connecting the HR agenda with the business strategy.

This is a hybrid role based in our Madison, WI office.
Essential Duties
include but are not limited to the following:
- Provide strategic HR support to assigned business units to support achievement of business results and strategy.
- Partner with business leadership to proactively identify future people-related business needs and translate into achievable action plans.
- Coach management to enhance leadership abilities, relationships among teams/individuals, communications, performance management, and employee development.
- Participate with senior leadership on projects related strategic workforce planning and workforce development.
- Advise management on related risk, balancing legal requirements with business requirements.
- Partner with internal HR teams to support core HR processes and programs.
- Leverage Talent Management Employee Solutions team to enable execution of day to day human resource functions to maximize the effectiveness of HR delivery.
- Engage in key business initiatives and projects.
- Drive large scale structural and organizational design and development efforts along with related change management activities.
- In partnership with Talent Strategy and Inclusion, work with leadership teams to create a leader-led, enabled culture of engagement and inclusion practices.
- Participate on business development teams and may act as the main HR point for integration efforts.
- Excellent interpersonal, listening, written communication, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to foster strong relationships with senior leaders across all teams and functions.
- Excellent coaching skills.

- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
- Ability to work on a computer and phone simultaneously.
- Considerable periods of time may be spent concentrating and or analyzing data.
- At times, stress may be experienced.
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds for approximately 5% of a typical working day.
- Ability to work with sensitive, confidential information and use a high level of demonstrated discretion and judgment.
- Ability to be successful working with a matrix organization achieving results through effective influencing and collaboration.
- Ability and means to travel between local Exact Sciences locations.
- Ability to travel 20% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field; or high school degree/general education diploma and 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- 10+ years of experience working as an HR business partner.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines including employee relations, diversity, performance management, organizational assessments, and Federal and State employment laws.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in business administration.
- Experience working in the biotech, pharmaceutical, diagnostic, or laboratory industry.
- PHR or SPHR certification.
Salary Range:
$152,000.00 - $242,000.00
The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to receive company stock upon hire as well as annually.
