We are seeking experienced freelance researchers to work with our EVERFI Research team in the UK and to grow our network of EVERFI Associate Researchers. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with experience in and a passion for using their research skills and experience to help deliver positive educational outcomes for young people.

We are looking for researchers with:

  • Over 3 years of experience (ideally 5+), likely to be Research Manager level or above.
  •  Experience in managing full-service research projects (ie. creating research materials, conducting fieldwork, leading and contributing to analysis and reporting) for clients from the corporate, government and charity sectors
  • Experience and expertise in conducting research with teachers, young people, families and education stakeholders
  • Skills in qualitative (focus groups, interviews etc) and / or quantitative research.

At present, we are especially interested in researchers with 2+ days a week of availability from now (late January 2022) until April 2022. 

Responsibilities

Our freelance researchers (EVERFI Associate Researchers) are responsible for leading on or contributing to the delivery of high-quality fieldwork and research outputs for a wide range of customers. 

  • Deliver qualitative and / or quantitative research projects for internal stakeholders and external clients. This will include developing recruitment briefs, creating research materials and stimuli, and moderating interviews, focus groups, workshops or ethnography and / or drafting surveys, managing suppliers and managing the fieldwork process.
  • Analyse research data and create and share insights and recommendations with clients via compelling, user-friendly and impactful research deliverables, including reports, films and infographics.
  • Contribute to project management, ensuring positive relationships with our clients and managing project administration
  • Conduct fieldwork safely and ethically and in line with MRS guidelines and safeguarding and data protection / GDPR good practice.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications 

  • An individual who is interested in using their research skills and experience to address educational inequalities and driving social change
  • Significant experience in conducting qualitative research (e.g. workshops, focus groups and interviews) and / or experience in conducting quantitative research (e.g. surveys) and basic quantitative data analysis such as via excel and tabulated data  
  • Experience in conducting research with children and young people desired
  • Knowledge of the UK education system and infrastructure and experience of conducting research with teachers desired 
  • Experience in creating engaging and impactful reports and other research deliverables required 

Please note:

  • The successful candidate may need an enhanced DBS so that they are able to conduct research with children and young people. We would process their application if required.
  • Remote applicants welcome 
  • This role is likely to involve some evening work as the successful candidate will probably deliver research groups or interviews on occasion in the evenings. This person may be required to travel within the UK to deliver face-to-face qualitative research. Travel costs, within the UK, would be covered by EVERFI.
  • We are open to considering flexible working (as long as the requirements above are met) and part-time contracts.
