EVERFI seeks a Communications Intern with a proven track record of academic achievement, hard work ethic, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. This position will support EVERFI’s external communication efforts, including writing press releases, developing and managing press lists, media monitoring for coverage and industry trends, creating social media content and copy, managing social listening tools, analyzing social metrics and trends, assisting in our influencer marketing efforts, and other projects as assigned.

This position is up to 20 hours/week, and reports to the Senior Director of Communications.

Your primary responsibilities will be:

  • Support the Communications and Social Media teams in developing and executing public relations campaigns to elevate the EVERFI brand
  • Assist with the development of press releases and press release templates
  • Maintain internal communications calendars or project-specific calendars
  • Develop and maintain press lists
  • Conduct research for social media campaigns
  • Monitor news coverage and trends relevant to industry
  • Develop media pitches and pitch reporters
  • Write engaging social media content for a variety of social media channels
  • Track media and social media metrics 
  • Manage social listening tools
  • Assist in company social campaigns and our influencer marketing plans
  • Other duties as assigned \

Desired skills, experience, and qualifications:

  • Coursework or prior internship experience in public relations, communications or journalism
  • Basic design skills and/or experience with Adobe Creative Suite a plus (preferably Illustrator, InDesign and/or Premier Pro).
  • Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills, excelling in the ability to tell compelling stories
  • Proven track record of being outcome-driven, follow-through, and ability to balance priorities well
  • Curious mind and a “growth mindset” in everything you do
  • Creative thinker with the ability to identify trends and make them work for different audiences
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Flexible team player, with a positive, can-do attitude
