Job Description:
The Operations Manager leads assigned EMS areas to ensure optimal patient access, clinical quality and financial outcomes. Provides leadership to assigned colleagues, monitors engagement, recruitment and retention best practices, and initiatives. This position will be responsible for a system wide EMS initiative as assigned. The Manager is responsible for achieving financial targets related to staff productivity and ensures assigned areas are staffed according to volumes. Implements strategic priorities and executes assigned work with direction and guidance from leadership.Education Qualifications:
Key Responsibilities:
- Manages in reach and outreach as relevant to stakeholders of EMS delivery
- Implements actions to improve employee engagement
- Ensures standard work is implemented to achieve quality and clinical metrics
- Provides coaching, feedback and ensures development conversations are completed for all members of the team
- Serves as escalation point for patient access to care
- Participates in improvement activities
- Provides input into long-range financial planning, program development and capital planning process
- Delegates work to assigned leads and supervisors if appropriate
- Mentors new team members for areas of oversight

Educational Requirements:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree (preferred in an EMS, healthcare, or business field)
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of EMS experience
- 2 years leadership experience
- Must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to Essentia Health 's insurer
- State Background check must provide clearance to work with vulnerable adults
Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
Certification/Licensure Requirements:
- Paramedic Certification within Minnesota (or ability to obtain within 2 months)
- Healthcare Provider CPR or equivalent
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification, or equivalent
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or equivalent (or must obtain within 6 months of hire)
