Overview
The ArcGIS Online team leads the development of core web GIS technologies, experiences, and applications. Our team of exceptional engineers design, test, and implement new capabilities for ArcGIS Online, our SaaS platform. As a product engineer, you will be involved at various stages of product development, from brainstorming broad ideas to ensuring quality through launch. We foster a collaborative environment with support and mentoring from engineering peers.

Responsibilities
- Plan, design, test, certify, release, and support ArcGIS Online
- Collaborate with various development teams to build new capabilities and improve existing workflows
- Perform functional and workflow driven testing (manual and automated) to assess product quality and readiness
- Identify and understand issues with security, internationalization, and accessibility in new features
- Gather requirements from users and teams within Esri and distil them into meaningful product features
- Write conceptual documentation, guided tutorials, and blogs for the features we build
- Be an advocate for the user and represent the user in product design and delivery
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with ArcGIS software or other geospatial technology
- Demonstrated experience with testing of software, requirements gathering, and documenting processes
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
- Proven ability to deliver work within time constraints, in teams and individually
- Effective organizational, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to understand new technology concepts quickly and apply them accurately through an evolving, dynamic environment
- Passion and ability to make a difference
- Bachelor's in GIS, computer science, or a related field
Recommended Qualifications
- Prior experience with software development and release of commercial software products
- Proven ability to define, manage, and deliver geospatial solutions
- Demonstrable familiarity with Python or JavaScript for troubleshooting and software testing as well as web protocols and formats, such as REST and JSON
- Master's in GIS, computer science, or a related field

Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy. Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is
$92,144 - $152,152 USD
