Overview
Bring your passion for creating engaging and approachable content to a dynamic and influential team at Esri. The documentation writing team is looking for an experienced, creative, and hard-working writer to create reference help documentation, blog articles, videos, guides, and tutorials about ArcGIS Flight and ArcGIS Field Maps. In this role as a product engineering writer, you will work closely with teams across Esri to communicate and demonstrate best practices about field operations, drone mapping, and mobile workflows. We are looking for individuals who have a strong planning, problem-solving, and analytical mindset. Those who can translate complex ideas into clear and compelling messages within established deadlines are well-suited for this role.

Responsibilities
- Write reference help documentation in our content management system about ArcGIS Flight, Esri's drone flight planning mobile app, and ArcGIS Field Maps, Esri's mobile solution for exploring maps, collecting data, and sharing location from the field.
- Create and maintain blog articles, videos, guides, and tutorials that provide guidance, best practices, and applied workflows for Flight and Field Maps.
- Collaborate with development, product marketing, product management, documentation, sales, and other teams to provide learning resources about Flight and Field Maps.
Requirements
- Portfolio Submission: Writing samples of your recent work
- 2 + years of professional writing experience related to field apps, drone mapping, or GIS; ideally a blended background including technical and creative writing
- Exposure to web-based content management systems to create and publish documents
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, concise, compelling content
- Effective time management and organizational skills; work proactively and volunteer assistance without being asked and under tight turnaround
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in an agile environment with a fluid mix of collaborative and independent work
- Bachelors in GIS, geography, computer science, English, or related field

Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is
$66,560 - $104,000 USD
