Overview
Esri is seeking a GIS engineer to help build layers, maps, and content for the ArcGIS Living Atlas of the World, the largest geospatial data collection globally, powering Esri products like ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Pro. In this role, you will manage the flow of data from its source to its online release, transforming it into layers, maps, dashboards, apps, and story maps that inform decision-makers across industries. You will work alongside content developers and product engineers to design and develop production solutions that support complex, state-of-the-art content systems for policymakers, business leaders, and the public.
Your responsibilities include ensuring timely delivery of high-quality layers and maps throughout the year, balancing efficiency, quality, creativity, and risk management. You will focus on map product improvement through careful planning, designing cartographic visualizations, scripting data ETL and visualization solutions, and using intelligent labeling. Collaboration with teams under tight deadlines will be key, as you set priorities, manage risks, and update documentation for each release. Additionally, you'll contribute to software improvements by sharing your experience with Esri's software development teams and work on creating innovative new content like infographics, dashboards, and StoryMaps.
