Technical Deployment Advisor
Job Summary
The Technical Deployment Management team focus on the physical implementation of all deployments (including EIS and change orders). As a Technical Deployment Advisor, you will plan, monitor and manage project implementations from initiation through completion, including the oversight and coordination with vendors. You will also deliver project implementations on-time according to customers' specifications, meeting customers' and Equinix's quality standards.
Responsibilities
Customer Order: Requirements & Support
- Supports senior team members in documenting and validating customers' order requirements, and develops technical knowledge of the Data Centers
Customer Order: Project Planning
- Creates task list to document and understand the customers' deployment, shadowing more senior team members on development of project implementation plans
Customer Order: Project Implementation and Delivery
- Works on assigned project activities
- Supports senior team members on inventory auditing and records keeping during project implementation
Cross Functional, Customer Support & Customer Communications
- Supports senior team members on the investigations and resolutions of customers' and cross-functional issues during project implementation
- Learns Equinix Operations Policies and Processes
Process Support/Optimization
- Learns and follows business and/or technical processes within the Data Center; may start to identify opportunities for improvement for basic or narrowly focused processes (e.g. Order fulfillment process)
Systems Support
- Develops knowledge of and learns business systems (i.e. Siebel Fulfillment) within Equinix
Data Support/Analysis
- Supports the team in ensuring Operations provisioning data is accurately input into Equinix business systems (i.e. Siebel Fulfillment)
- Supports the team in any physical audit efforts
Vendor Support
- Supports the team and Data Center Operations Support on any required Vendor support
Qualifications
- 3+ years operations / project management experience in a Data Center environment is a plus
- Diploma and above in IT -related or Electrical / Mechanical Engineering field preferred
