What you'll be doing:

  • Lead the engineering team to expertly maintain critical equipment and data center fabric. Highlight and report all opportunities to improve efficiency in site operations and asset condition.
  • Actively support the development of the team in line with recognized professional institutes and promote the Magic of Equinix - our values.
  • Assist the Engineering Manager with the daily supervision of contractors engaged in project works.
  • Attend project meetings, giving technical mentor-ship and sharing information with the wider team.
  • Ensure customer notifications are raised and issued in good time.
  • Oversee contractor work and operations to ensure completion to Equinix's required standards.
  • Audit contractors work and RAMS to ensure their compliance
  • Assist with start up tests, documenting and reporting all problems
  • Communicate and coordinate activities and on-site staff during an incident
  • Provide ongoing technical support and training to the team.

What we are looking for:

  • ONC/BTEC or equivalent qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
  • Previous data center experience
  • Previous experience leading a team of engineers
  • Good customer and leadership skills
  • 18th Edition test and inspection training
  • Ambitious and flexible
  • HV Switching experience
