Job Summary:
Based out of our EMEA headquarters in Amsterdam, the SVP is responsible for the effective and efficient running of day-to-day field operations for all datacenters in the EMEA region, covering 20 countries, with continued extensive growth.
Responsibilities:
- Drive strategic planning and priorities for data center operations
- Establish and track against KPIs, SLAs, and metrics (including regional performance, capacity, availability and budget)
- Oversee on-the-ground incident response, problem resolution, and change management to support Equinix's outstanding customer experience
- Establish critical business continuity plans, including design and implementation of disaster preparedness, detailed project management, and logistics coordination
- Establish and track safety measures to ensure the safety of frontline resources
- Ensure consistency in experience and on-the-ground response across data centers in a region
- Coordinate with the global design and construction team to ensure consistency and efficiency
- Own and track capacity management across data centers in the region
- Shape a collaborative, transparent, and entrepreneurial culture, in tandem with the global corporate leadership team
- Inspire and engage employees around a unified vision for the region while aligning with the Global Operations strategy
- Empower frontline resources to put the customer first in what we do and prioritise their needs through effective processes and incentives
- Lead on initiatives that align with and advance the delivery of the global operations 'build bolder' strategy to scale to meet future customer demand
Knowledge, skills and experience sought:
- Demonstrated track record of datacenter operations management and maintenance at scale across multiple countries in EMEA or similar leadership and cross functional management experience in closely adjacent or mission-critical industry
- Deep experience in optimizing a growing and evolving a business - leading a large organization (team 1,000+) through a period of rapid growth, merger integration or business transition
- Focus on execution and results - establishing high standards for performance, setting stretched goals and development plans, and holding people accountable for results
- Ability to provide thought leadership, think strategically and effectively communicate vision and influence
- Leader in the Equinix culture and guardian of the employee experience across the region with the ability to build followership and can evidence leading in "people first" culture that champion diversity and inclusivity.

- Financial acumen and ability to connect operational objectives to financial results
