Senior Staff Engineer

Job Summary

We are currently seeking a candidate for a role that primarily focuses on maintaining the servers and similar tasks. However, we are undergoing a transformation process to implement automation, self-healing, and self-service capabilities. As a result, the role will increasingly involve architecting solutions, programming, automation tools, and other related knowledge.

Analyzes business requirements/functional designs to resolve the feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Designs software systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Singleview server maintenance including deployments, user access, and solving performance issues
  • Establish and maintain Singleview governance processes, policies, and guidelines
  • Develop tools and automation scripts and processes to deliver on the goals and transformation of the department
  • Implementation of DevOps tools and collaboration with other departments to streamline and automate the environment build, user access, deployments, alerts and monitoring
  • Define roles and responsibilities for being responsible for the organization's data in compliance with business and regulatory requirements
  • Plan and complete Singleview deployments, ensuring alignment with the organization's analytics vision
  • Review and adapt policies and procedures to meet changing business needs
  • Collaborate with technology team members to craft, build, and support data/reporting/analytics systems and infrastructure
  • Research and assist with scaling new billing products, within the department
  • Plan disaster recovery and backup strategies for Singleview environments
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to integrate cloud to on-premise applications
  • Produce and continuously improve reporting and analytics databases/data warehouses to serve a diverse range of consumers
  • Handle shift responsibilities, including on-call rosters, shift rotations (including night shifts), and occasional weekend work for maintenance and deployment activities

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10+ years of Software Engineering experience
  • Minimum of 4 years experience with Singleview Server maintenance
  • 2 years with web applications server maintenance
  • Strong solving skills for performance issues in Singleview
  • Excellent knowledge of Linux and Bash scripting
  • Intermediate experience on Python with 3 years of experience
  • Intermediate knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps tools such as Jenkins, SonarQube, k8s, and Docker
  • Proven experience in Singleview Server architecture discussions
  • Experience with application installations, upgrades, and migrations within virtualized environments
  • Validated understanding of disaster recovery & backup strategies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to efficiently collaborate with team members and customers
  • Meticulous with extensive integration and server-side integration and maintenance experience
  • Experience integrating cloud and on-premise applications
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced distributed team environment with minimal direction
  • Flexible to work as per the requirements of Global Organization

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of analytics, monitoring and visualization tools like QlikView, Looker, Domo, Grafana, ELK
  • Experience with other programming languages such as Java, React, Javascript
  • Experience with maintenance of web applications
  • Certification in Python, Linux, Singleview or similar
