Senior Revenue Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Revenue Accountant to oversee the month-end close activities of our Revenue Operation team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely reporting of revenue results to management. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with accounting standards for revenue recognition and the effective implementation of SOX controls.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations for revenue-related GL accounts, including Deferred Installation Revenue, Deferred Revenue, Unbilled A/R, and other relevant balance sheet accounts.
  • Generate monthly and quarterly manual journal entries for revenue and balance sheet accounts.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of balance sheet fluctuations on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, investigating any unusual fluctuations and making necessary adjustments.
  • Utilize revenue management tools, such as RevPro, to perform monthly processes for contractual data, billing data, and unbilled data, ensuring accurate revenue recognition and validating data accuracy between systems.
  • Prepare periodic internal management reports.
  • Manage internal and external auditor requests, including revenue sampling audits, internal controls testing, and quarterly and year-end audit documentation.
  • Undertake ad hoc projects and prepare reports as needed.
  • Consolidate data from multiple external sources into unified reports.
  • Document and maintain revenue desktop procedures, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Participate in system testing during monthly bill tests, UAT, system changes, enhancements, and bug fixes.
  • Ensure compliance with revenue controls.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to minimize revenue leakage.
  • Maintain a high level of internal customer satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Revenue accounting.
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience; CPA certification preferred.
  • Public accounting or technical revenue recognition experience is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and process skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • In-depth knowledge of full-cycle accounting issues and treatment.
  • Proficiency in Oracle Cloud ERP; experience with RevPro revenue management tool is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Access/SQL database and Hyperion is beneficial.
  • Basic understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
