Senior Manager, Data Center Critical Facilities

Job Summary

Establishes operational objectives, policies, procedures and work plans and delegates assignments to subordinates. Develops, modifies and executes company policies that affect immediate operations and may also have company-wide effect. Accountable for department budget which may be broad and have far reaching impact on the business segment.

What you will be doing

  • Manages experienced level professionals and/or may be responsible for subordinate managers
  • Manages team to work safely, effectively and with high regard to human error avoidance
  • Manages personnel details including salaries, positioning, hire/fire, reviews, coaching, and development
  • Leads in project management and incident resolution
  • Plans, coordinates, approves budgets, and implements resources to complete projects and maintenance within the data centers
  • Overall site and/or multi-site capacity management
  • Manages the team to ensure completion to Equinix's required standards, (KPI's) Key Performance Indicators and (SLA's) Service Level Agreements
  • Ensures correct processes are followed and all documentation is complete
  • Takeover of new builds and building infrastructure
  • Approves all (MOP) Maintenance Operation Protocol scripts and permits
  • Participates as part of the new facility/infrastructure design team
  • Communicates and coordinates activities and on-site staff during a complex or severe customer-impacting incident
  • Drives root cause analysis and provides a clear direction
  • Drives approval for incident resolution
  • Manage Data Center Engineers team to ensure that the duties they are undertaking are carried out in a timely manner and projects are progressing as expected

What we'll expect from you - required

  • Advanced English
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Previous experience as a manager or senior manager
  • Solid experience in leading teams and mission critical environment
  • Experience in Data Center Operations
  • Supervises Data Center Engineers to ensure that the duties they are undertaking are carried out in a timely manner and projects are progressing as expected
  • Manages personnel details to include salaries, positioning, hire/fire, reviews, coaching and development
  • Lead Data Center Engineers and Data Center site. Assists with testing and coordinating projects and maintenance.
  • Overall site capacity supervision
  • Plans, coordinates, budgets, and implements resources to complete projects and maintenance within the data center
  • Provides input and guidance towards budget
  • Oversees contractor work and operations to ensure completion to Equinix's required standards
  • Assists with start up tests, documenting and reporting all problems
  • Communicates and coordinates activities and on-site staff during an incident
