We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager to oversee and manage the successful implementation of mission critical multidisciplinary projects to our Managed Services customers and Is responsible for planning standards reviews and setting strategy for company-wide programs/portfolios.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in project management, technology implementation, and team leadership. This is a senior-level position that requires exceptional organizational, communication, problem-solving, customer first mindset, leadership, management and strong cross-functional relationships skills and previous experience as a senior manager or equivalent seniority.

What you'll be doing

Strategy and Portfolio Management

  • Develop and execute the overall implementation strategy for AMER Managed Services technology portfolio and projects in alignment with business objectives and having the customer at the center.
  • Responsible for AMER Manage Services portfolio management driving program and project initiatives to meet revenue targets, business priorities and customer satisfaction.
  • Direct and support multiple teams and business professionals that are responsible to deliver wide company strategic programs.
  • Defines and effectively communicates portfolio, program and project management methodology and its application to customer solutions.
  • Act as third-level escalation point of contact for customers, maintaining strong relationships and effectively managing and meeting expectations throughout the project lifecycle.

Leadership and People Management

  • Provides management and leadership across AMER team to ensure the team's growth is in alignment with business needs. In partnership with direct reports set functional and development SMART objectives for immediate team members and their staff. Sets direction for the business function.
  • Foster a culture of continuous feedback, providing timely and relevant feedback to the team, coaching and helping them to grow their skills and learn from their experiences.
  • Lead and manage a team of people managers, engineers, and technical specialists to ensure portfolio, program and project success, timely delivery, and high-quality outcomes in alignment with Equinix's strategy.
  • Develop and retain a high-performing, healthy and highly engaged team, creating a sustainable and diverse talent pipeline to meet Equinix strategic objectives.

KPIs

  • Ensure appropriate metrics and KPI's are in place and being properly measured covering the needs of the team, the function, the stakeholders and the overall business area.
  • Responsible to monitor and report the progress of the overall function area, and AMER EMS portfolio analyzing trends, identifying and implementing improvement opportunities.

Process and Resources Planning

  • Supports functional leadership in developing functional planning by rolling up department continuous improvement areas and developing holistic plans to close functional gaps.
  • Responsible for the area budget planning controlling and optimization and accountable for the area resource planning across the team.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement in the team, identifying opportunities to enhance delivery processes, tools, and methodologies and implement relevant advancements to drive efficiency and effectiveness.

Communication, Network and Negotiation

  • Responsible for a team who has multiple and broad communication responsibilities and to ensure stakeholders and customers' expectations are properly managed.
  • Continuous challenges the team and others on finding a balance between effective communications whilst pragmatic with volume, frequency and/or content.
  • Build a trust and solid network that helps to continuously identify and connect with cross-functional stakeholders. Negotiate deals and solutions that consider enterprise-wide impact.

Solution Oriented and Adaptability

  • Be the highest level of escalation point within the team for complex issues, and whenever necessary, may refer and escalate outside of the immediate team to ensure the proper decision and solution are applied.
  • Challenges the team to ensure lateral thinking and information is fully analyzed to achieve resolution.
  • Act as a champion for organizational changes supporting the team to effectively adapt to change and ambiguity.

What we'll expect from you

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Fluent English required.
  • Strategic view with a strong experience and knowledge in portfolio, program and project management, preferably in a technology delivery and implementation role, with experience in managing complex, large-scale projects, managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices, such as Agile and PMBOK.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, coach, engage and develop multicultural teams to achieve functional and project goals and deliver outstanding business results.
  • Demonstrate strong ability to lead and manage multi location and multicultural teams.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in metrics and KPI definition, monitoring, and data analysis.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and effectively interact with customer, stakeholders, and team members at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, adaptability and accountability skills, with a strategic mindset and the capacity to identify and solve portfolio and project-related challenges.
