Reporting and Analytics Senior Analyst

Job Summary:

Analyzes complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide data insight to decision-makers. Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in datasets. Builds recommendations to improve business unit effectiveness. May develop methods for measuring effectiveness of business unit work. Defines or contributes to analytics strategy. Works to ensure global consistency in data and analytic methods. Works to make data available and increase employees' capability to interpret and use data and analytics tools effectively. May partner with other professionals to develop, assess, facilitate and/or lead programs and processes to support business objectives and strategy implementation. The Senior Analyst is responsible for analyzing data trends and supporting and developing improvement changes.

Responsibilities

Stakeholder Trust & Engagement

  • Interacts regularly with functional metrics owners and IT partners to deliver and demonstrate value realized in the reporting operations process.
  • Proactively reaches out to internal clients to clarify requests and debriefs to explain data insights, confirm reports, and makes recommendations of what data should be explored.
  • Demonstrating Transformational Leadership throughout all interactions

Roadmap Delivery

  • Gather and document requirements for minor/major data mart enhancements, new metrics and new reporting product functionalities
  • Interacts regularly with stakeholders to provide periodical project status updates, raise risks and issues encountered, and manage UAT completions in the project.
  • Support monthly and quarterly reporting activities across production, control, distribution, and business support for Equinix's Quarterly Operating Review (QBR), DNA Insights Products, Orbis dashboards and self-service tools, and other reporting solutions.

Thought Leadership

  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to existing tools and processes to improve or simplify outcomes
  • Processes a holistic understanding of the business, including where their domain sits in the wider business context and providing recommendations which align to wider strategic objectives
  • Makes recommendations of what data should be explored and debriefs stakeholder and team members to explain data insights and confirm report

Relationship Management / Team Membership

  • Partners effectively with CW's and/or FTE to ensure high-work quality and output.
  • Coaches junior team members
  • Exemplifies Equinix values in all aspects of their work, including engagement with their peers, line managers, leadership and wider Strategy & Insights team and Equinix Data community

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience as a business reporting analyst
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics - or equivalent
  • Strong experience in using BI/reporting Tools and Excel to do advance data analysis
  • 3+ years of experience of working with internal clients and external suppliers, and working in partnership to shape the business problems requiring analytics and insight
  • Strong analytic skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change
  • Hypothesis-driven, problem-solving skills; capable of quickly identifying business levers to investigate
  • Fundamental operational control mindset, proactive in understanding the data and be able to deliver true insights behind the movement and correlation of data sets
  • Strong IT knowledge - e.g., owned specific delivery component of IT data mart or reporting projects/process improvement; able to quickly grasp new data concept/ideas and technology.
  • Strong data and reporting skills - Data model design, reporting/dashboard design specification, data quality controls, business data cataloging
