Job Summary:

Effectively interacts with other internal and external teams, including the design engineering, site engineering, regional operations teams, onsite support vendors and consultants on projects, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Design
• Develops and updates design standards for IBX controls systems
• Assesses adherence to policies and methods

Design & Process Review
• Reviews controls design and submittal documents for IBX construction
• Reviews and approves change management requests for controls systems

System Support
• Reviews existing controls systems for single points of failure and provides recommendations and cost estimate for remediation
• Provides logical and graphical programming
• Investigates incidents and provides root cause analysis

System Optimization
• Assists in managing system changes and optimization including; test procedures, schedule, coordination and teaming with on-site IBX Ops • Engineering personnel, and impacts communication with major stakeholders

Management
• Manages engineers and internal teams on new system implementation
• Develops and motivates team members, and drives results
• Manages personnel details
• Participates in industry organizations
• Learns through internal Equinix management training

Project Management
• Leads and manages projects (sets goals, schedules, adherence to project timelines, manages resources and stakeholders)
• Interfaces with other engineering disciplines

Financials
• Responsible for controls team budget

Work Practices
• Utilizes safe working practices at an expert level (e.g. can apply procedure for lockout/tagout, can explain MSDS, etc.)
• Evaluates and assures the safe working practices of others
• Interacts with other engineering disciplines

Qualifications
• Extensive experience in control system design, operations, maintenance, and project planning with emphasis & special focus on controls
• Bachelor Degree
