Physical Security Enablement Manager
Job Summary
- Manages & provides day to day support, guidance, design engineering, project planning and oversees Data Center Operations Security assuring consistency in meeting performance goals for customer satisfaction.
- Works with the necessary stakeholders to ensure that the business needs for security matters are met.
- Manages the security systems operation and maintenance, getting the necessary support from the manufacturer/supplier.
Responsibilities
Operations & Maintenance
- Effectively manages facility maintenance for all Security systems, direct, and train operations team in a manner that achieves service availability objectives of 99.999% or better. Achievement of this level of availability requires effective management of personnel activities, through training, and a comprehensive knowledge of mission's critical data center systems and the specific redundancy features of those systems.
- Manages Security Systems Capacity
Team Support
- Oversees Operations teams workloads to ensure customer service delivery time frames are safely met.
- Manages QA/QC and employee training processes, in order to deliver a high-quality product and to ensure customer exceptions are regularly met.
- Supports supervisors, security engineers, and Data Center site security staff. Aids in testing, project management, and resolving incidents.
Standards & Procedures
- Maintains consistency in the administration and enforcement of Equinix security policies and standard operating procedures; while providing ongoing review, insight, and improvements to the policy documents.
Incident Management
- Provides 24x7, 365 responses on an as-needed basis, to emergencies such as security system failures, alarms, customer escalations, severe weather, etc. Arranges qualified backups when not available to the operation.
- Provides timely incident and security breach investigation, communication, escalation, and remedial action plans when necessary.
Project Support
- Works closely with the Research and Design groups for the development and implementation of new security technologies and the successful construction of new Equinix data centers.
- Manages multiple concurrent security projects and the ability to work in a team environment.
Resource Management
- Plans, coordinates, reviews budgets, and implements resources to complete security projects and maintenance within the Data Center.
- Effectively manages both Capital and Operational expenditures, while maintaining adequate control of the business.
Contract & Vendor Management
- Provides coordination and support to the Equinix Security Global Contractors.
- Oversees contractor work and operations to ensure completion to Equinix's required standards, KPI's and SLA's.
Skills and Attributes
- Excellent analytical skills and hands-on problem-solving techniques. Must be detail oriented and poses a heightened sense of urgency.
- Required ability to read, analyse, and interpret blueprints, schematics, have effective written and verbal communications skills, working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Window Server, Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge and/or certification with a security systems manufacturer such as AMAG, Software House, Loronix, Prowatch, Gallagher, Lenel, AEOS or GE is a plus.
- The candidate must be able to perform maintenance tasks, as well as produce all reports and documentation.
- Knowledge of common network protocols such as TCP/IP and experienced in troubleshooting networks including LAN and WAN.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Understanding of test equipment (i.e. Bert testing, cable analyzers, Sniffer)
Experience
- Extensive experience in facility maintenance, operations and management field with a Bachelor degree in applicable field or equivalent.
- Must have Supervisor level experience able to lead multiple trade disciplines.
- All around Data Center security infrastructure and networking background.
- Operational experience with data communication issues, including physical security, resource management, capacity planning, monitoring, and performance.
