HR Insights & Planning Advisory Manager

Job Summary

Equinix is experiencing unprecedented growth and HR is transforming into an agile product-oriented organization with a focus on end-to-end employee experience and measuring impact. We are looking for an Insight & Planning Advisory Manager to join our global Workforce Insights Team.

The ideal candidate for HR Insights & Planning Advisory Manager role will be a workforce analytics / planning professional, or similar, who has good demonstrable knowledge of the role that people data plays in driving organizational & talent performance, and in turn in driving business performance.

This HR Insights & Planning Advisory Manager role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about leveraging people data, products, and models, to generate meaningful insights and recommendations that support leadership and executive decision-making and driving corresponding actions forward.

Reporting to the Director of Workforce Insights, the HR Insights & Planning Advisory Manager role will partner closely with our HR Functional Groups (cross-functional teams of HRBPs, OE Consultants and Talent Acquisition specialists), to proactively deliver and manage business-ready insights, workforce plans / scenarios and recommendations. You will be expected to be deeply understand business problems and opportunities, and leverage data, analysis and insights to address. This could be anything from identifying opportunities to improve the health and performance of the business through to identifying workforce options that address near-term and long-term headcount, capability, skills, etc. needs.

In doing so, you will need to collaborate very closely with other product domain experts within the Workforce Insights team (across workforce analytics, workforce planning, advanced analytics, and operations & enablement). You will be expected to deeply understand and leverage our WFI products to generate business-ready insights and support your stakeholder groups in directly leveraging these products, as well as creating a feedback-loop with the WFI product domain experts to continue enhancing our products to continue to meet the needs of HR and the business.

Given this a new role for the team, you will be responsible for supporting the Director of Workforce Insights in setting the global strategy and direction of this capability, in addition to providing deep expertise for 1 or 2 functional domains.

Responsibilities

Insight & Planning Advisory Strategy

  • Translate the strategic direction of HR Strategy, Talent Org and Business into routine strategic insight materials and recommendations aligned key business / talent motions, collaborating with both WFA and SWP.
  • Develop and implement strategy (e.g. what, why, when, who, how, etc.) for socializing insights with our key stakeholders in a way that easily gets to the "so-what" and delivers last-mile impact.
  • Proactive partnership with HR Functional Teams (FTs), Client Services, and Talent Org to identify and understand business-related people insight and planning requirements.
  • Develop a deep knowledge and understanding of business problems and opportunities, and how best to leverage our WFI products to address.
  • Continually listen for holistic insight and planning needs from HR and the business, consolidating and sharing feedback with WFA and SWP teams to feed into product strategy.

Strategic Analysis & Insights

  • Production of enterprise-wide and business-specific insight materials and supporting recommendations to enable Functionally Aligned Teams and the business to act.
  • Lead executive reporting for enterprise strategic initiatives (e.g. location strategy), monitoring performance, making recommendations and driving actions.
  • Collaborate with WFA / SWP to support HR and the Business in leveraging WFI products to generate holistic insights and workforce plans.
  • Partner with Advanced Analytics capability where deeper strategic analysis requiring advanced and statistical methods are required.
  • Create and project manage the necessary processes and governance that enables the seamless move of data to insights to actions.
  • Operate as an insight and planning SME for 1 or 2 functional domains e.g., Operations, G&A, GTM, Technology, etc.

Training & Enablement

  • Determine people data and insight upskilling needs for FTs and business groups and lead focused training efforts in partnership with other WFI capabilities as needed.
  • Support HR and business leaders in leveraging WFA and WFP products to enable effective people decision-making through insights and workforce plans.
  • Support WFA and SWP capabilities in devising a feedback-loop strategy for our products through which we can continually improve our products to remain relevant to our end-users.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience

  • Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources / Business Administration / Psychology (or similar) supported by relevant quantitative experience; or,
    • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics / Engineering / Analytics (or similar) supported by relevant HR or business partner/ advisor experience.
  • Experience welcome from different fields e.g. Human Resources, Business Partnering / Advisory, HR Analytics, Workforce Planning, Strategy / Management Consulting, etc.
  • Experience engaging and supporting customers across multiple projects and driving change and impact.
  • Experience of data story-telling to drive decision-making.
  • Experience with influencing, collaborating and coaching internal teams and stakeholders.

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong expertise in understanding & diagnosing business problems, and leveraging data to solve these problems.
  • Ability to tell a compelling, meaningful and story with data to influence decision-making. Strong visualization experience.
  • Ability to think strategically and analytically and solve complex problems.
  • Experience with a variety of data analysis tools, techniques and outputs e.g. dashboards, models, reports, etc.
  • Insight-led and customer-oriented, focused on delivering value to HR and business leaders.
  • Understanding of basic business and financial concepts.
  • Ability to identify upskilling needs and lead focused training efforts.
