Team and Role

The Global Technical Sales team is responsible for providing technology and thought leadership to our customers. This team supports strategic sales engagements, drives technology adoption, and develops tailored solutions to meet our unique customers' needs.

As a Global Technical Sales Intern, you will learn about the datacenter industry and how Equinix provides foundational services that help their partners (AWS, Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Nvidia) & customers (Fortune 500 & Big tech) scale globally. You will have the opportunity to shadow GTS leadership and practitioners in their daily role in key initiatives, strategic sales engagements, development of offers, and repeatable solutions, as well as be given guided responsibility for the completion of a specific business-required project.

Your project(s) will be based on your skills, interests, and where YOU can make an impact to help Equinix accelerate our mission of interconnecting the world.

Sample responsibilities include:

  • Gaining a deep understanding of Equinix's offerings, values, advantages, and limitations.
  • Understanding customers' unique needs, challenges, and developing tailored sales strategies.
  • Preparing internal sales enablement materials, such as training resources, process documentation, and FAQs.
  • Identifying and researching technology companies (cloud providers, network vendors, etc) that could be potential partners for Equinix.
  • Creating implementation guides, instructional videos, and white papers.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate university/college program, graduating between December 2025 - December 2026
  • Available to work full-time for the entire duration of the Summer Internship Program (May 5 - August 22, 2025).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, business proficiency in English
  • A strong interest and aptitude for technology, with a proven ability to quickly learn and understand new technical concepts
  • Ability to create accurate and punctual reports, deliver presentations, and share information and ideas with others.

Nice to Have Skills and Experiences:

  • Information security knowledge (networks, routing, applications, development)
  • Cloud computing knowledge (Microsoft / AWS / Google certifications are a plus)
  • Experience in a sales environment, such as retail, customer service, or direct sales
  • Experience understanding customer / stakeholder needs, and creating tailored solutions
