Corporate Development Director

Job Profile Summary

The Corporate Development Director develops and maintains a long term strategy and roadmap for existing and new metro's in the countries that they partner with. They support Regional business planning/analysis, strategic initiatives, and new business development research. They are expected to build strong partnerships with some major functions and consult on strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate investments.

Responsibilities

Investment Management and Optimization

  • Partners with Country MD to drive Metro and country strategy alignment


  • Proactively shapes or identifies business cases for new development


  • Conducts financial modelling, analysis and IRR models


  • Advises on ad hoc financial analysis and support investment analysis for other business units, including M&A, Strategy, Business Development, Commercial Finance and others


  • Coordinates and presents investment proposals to executive management


  • Supports the real estate strategy for each metro


  • Supports EMEA capex forecasts on planned development


  • Sets direction for asset management optimization strategies including expansion, contraction, disposition and reconfiguration of properties


  • Identify emerging trends and opportunities that support metro strategies, product roadmap and regional strategy, with the support of third party consultants if relevant

M&A

  • Supports analyses of different structural alternatives (i.e., build vs. buy, equity investment vs. partnership vs. acquisition). Provides support to senior team members in the development of operational models and synergy forecasts for targets• May assist with the storyboarding of presentations to drive discussion at the Senior Executive level

Project and Program Management

  • Anticipates business issues, sometimes with direction from VPs, Country Managers or E-team members, sometimes with limited or no direction


  • Assists in preparation of Executive staff and Board presentation materials


  • Supports efforts on internal consulting projects focused on new markets/products, growth initiatives or profitability improvements


  • Aids in short-term consulting / problem solving / performance improvement support & advice to E-team, as needed

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Runs interdepartmental meetings with no supervision


  • Builds relationships with department heads and Country Managers to find issues and recommend solutions


  • Provides updates to senior leadership team


  • Works with other departments (Global Design & Construction, Commercial Finance, Operations) to optimize returns on proposed business cases


  • Prepares materials for presentations to the Executive team and Board of Directors

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; CPA or MBA a plus


  • 10+ years of business experience, preferably in Investment Banking/Top tier Management consulting/Corporate Finance/Corporate Development at a leading technology company preferred
