Communication Senior Manager

Equinix is seeking an experienced leader to manage Executive Communications (and contribute to Internal Communications) for two critical and growing teams- Data Center Services and Digital Services. You must have a passion for executive comms, employee engagement, developing integrated communications strategies, content creation, and storytelling, as well as the ability to create and execute across a dynamic and fast-growing organization proactively. Reporting to the Director of Communications for Product, you will serve as a strategic program lead within the corporate communications team.

You will serve as a strategic communications partner to executives within both Data Center Services and Digital Services (including EVP and VP), providing counsel and support for a broad range of high-profile internal communication efforts. In partnership with the PR, AR, and social teams, you will also develop, execute, and support external communications involving these leaders, including platform and thought leadership content development, comms strategy, and integration with other communications practice areas.

Responsibilities:

As part of the Product communications team at Equinix, you will support executive and functional Communications for two related but distinct functions: Data Center Services and Digital Services. In support of the business goals, you will work on the following programs:

  • Develop and evolve communications platforms for executive(s) within these teams, especially Executive Vice Presidents. Elevate the voices of Product executives on specific topics aligned with Equinix's strategy and the outcomes, value, and innovation customers and partners can create through Platform Equinix.
  • Design and implement comprehensive communication strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. This involves understanding the executive team's vision and translating it into clear and impactful messaging.
  • Turn knowledge of the current technology landscape into thought leadership opportunities. Develop points of view and create opportunities for executives to have a voice and future perspective on key topical issues.
  • Crafting compelling narratives and stories that resonate with the target audience and effectively communicate the executive team's vision and values. This includes identifying and highlighting impactful stories within the organization and leveraging them to build emotional connections.
  • Partner with the PR, AR, Social, and other communications leaders to drive external engagement opportunities across priority audiences and topics as needed.
  • Where appropriate, assess executives' social media presence and develop strategy, create content, and maintain calendar as needed.
  • Develop and execute all-hands, town halls, and other events - including presentation development, managing materials, logistics, and coordination with speakers.
  • Lead and/or contribute to other employee engagement activities- both within the Product teams, Corporate Communications organization, and broader cross-functional efforts aligned to business needs
  • Develop content, including messaging, executive emails, blogs, briefing documents, talking points, video scripts, newsletters, and Q&A documents as needed, ensuring consistency and alignment with the organization's brand and values.
  • Understand and apply trends in communications tools, applications, channels, design, and strategy, helping us be an innovative and experimental team.
  • Oversee the measurement of programs and develop recommendations to improve the quality and effectiveness of communications.


  • Work collaboratively and cross-functionally to ensure alignment and consistency and promote key priorities across the organization.
  • Actively engage with regional organizations, HR, Sales & Marketing, and Global Customer Care and Experience
  • Partner with global corporate communications team to ensure consistency with global strategy

Knowledge and Experience

  • 10+ years' communications experience - creating and implementing strategies and developing online content; ideally having worked with Fortune 500 B2B technology companies.
  • Demonstrated excellence in strategic storytelling, writing/editing, project management, strategic planning and execution, executive coaching, event management, crisis management/communications, change management, and multimedia communications.
  • Experience managing content for web, video, social, and print and development of content strategy.
  • Experience collaborating with go-to-market, marketing, data/insight functions, and/or sales teams.
  • Strong planning and project management skills and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Digital acumen and knowledge of digital communications trends and standards/designs/best practices, including user experience for web, email, mobile, and social media.
  • Experience with metrics gathering and reporting to measure communication performance.
  • Experience with visual design and layout and working with creative resources is a plus
  • Crisis communications experience, as well as experience dealing with sensitive workforce and workplace issues.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related area is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of key technology and communication tools, including PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, SharePoint, Smartsheet, Slido, and Poppulo, as well as a willingness and ability to quickly embrace new tools.
