Chief of Staff, Marketing

Job Summary

Responsible for multiple resources to deliver large scale global cross functional business transformation programs. Builds strategic relationships with stakeholders and government and governance authorities. Responsible for and leads the delivery of very large transformational programs and portfolios.

Responsibilities

Department planning and operations

  • Collaborate with the CMO and leadership to build an annual strategic marketing plan. In cooperation with leadership, help to identify the requirements necessary for the department to coordinate across teams inside and outside of the department
  • Drive decision making process and facilitate project execution
  • Lead CMO Leadership Meetings by designing agendas, preparing presentation and briefing materials
  • Ensure dialogue, decisions, follow-up and alignment
  • Leadership meetings include: Leadership Team staff meetings, Marketing Extended Leadership Meeting), offsites and all-hands meetings

Analysis and decision making

  • Conduct research, gather data and perform analysis to inform strategic decision making
  • Analyze data and provide insights to support the CMO on key business matters
  • Monitor industry trends, the competitive landscape, and marketing trends
  • Support financial planning and management activities for the CMO budget and work with the Corporate Marketing and Operations team to manage the financial calendar and regular reporting and follow-up activities
  • Oversee priority projects and action items emerging from the marketing reviews and drive alignment and accountability for follow-up and closure of open items and agreed actions

Communications

  • Drive collaborative communication with key stakeholders across the Customer and Revenue Organization (CRO) including Sales, Customer Care and Revenue Operations. Serve as a liaison to the CRO organization to ensure alignment and clarity across key stakeholders and act as collaboration entry point for the CRO
  • Work closely with the Exec Communications team to help create a variety of executive presentations to support internal and external SVP communications, including PowerPoint presentations and other communications vehicles
  • Organize and drive a cadence of regular communications within and outside the marketing functions to ensure that the progress and status of priority projects is understood by relevant functions and stakeholders
  • In concert with Executive Communications, manage the CMO comms program to balance customer meetings, industry panels, forums with other C-level executives, analyst meetings, and sales meetings

Team Development

  • Serve as main point person on Marketing Leadership team to drive collaborative creation of development curriculum and forums for the organization that help to retain, recognize and grow internal marketing talent
  • Work with HR and Talent to review organizational health and develop forums and surveys to drive team development success

Program Management of Goals and Objectives

  • Manage, monitor and evaluate activity and progress on special projects
  • Determine need for changing priorities and/or resource allocations
  • Ensure awareness of wider leadership team across these projects
  • Track major milestones with various project leads. Work with the Corporate Marketing and Operations team to streamline processes and mechanisms for creating a meaningful strategy and execution plan within the leadership team

  • Significant experience in a similar role in a fast-paced environment

The United States targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

• San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $198,000 to $298,000 per year

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
