Category Manager, Procurement - Software & Cloud Services
Job Summary
Responsible for recommending and implementing sourcing strategy for specific categories with collaboration from stakeholders to resolve issues as they arise.
Responsibilities
- Establish Software category procurement goals, metrics, and work plans to meet operational objectives
- Develop Software category management strategies and action plans globally
- Manage regional/program/project RFx and support category initiatives as needed
- Lead contract development and implementation efforts, while partnering with Legal on the contract lifecycle. Lead vendor negotiations including business terms and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Drive process and system improvements to enhance procurement efficiency, governance cost, and compliance - experience with the use of enabling systems to track progress, identify gaps, and develop plans to address
- Build and maintain supplier relationships and drive improvement in the areas of cost, risk, and quality. Educate suppliers on the mechanics of doing business with Equinix.
- Identify and resolve various supplier management problems
- Report and present quarterly business reviews to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring SLA's, key metrics and program compliance is adhered
- Proactively identify, implement and project manage cost reduction, risk and service quality improvement. Track cost savings opportunities within category, capitalizing on efficiencies and growth within managed program
- Understand suppliers' key cost drivers, interpret basic financial and balance sheet reporting, and provide recommendations
- Support additional technology service opportunities as needed including professional services associated with software implementations, where relevant
- Supports Global Category Lead as needed
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in global Software procurement, including Cloud services
- 7+ years leading Software procurement with a focus on category management or sourcing/procurement preferred
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- Post graduate qualification in General Management, Procurement and /or Supply Chain Management, Process Automation and /or position in industry association with thought leadership preferred
- Strong Financial and Technical Acumen
- Strong organizational skills. Facilitate meetings effectively ensuring that communication styles are appropriate given the differing needs of culturally diverse, global teams
- Customer focused, able to collaborate and influence others to drive actions to meet business needs while maintaining a positive, professional outlook
- Ability to work and interact with departments throughout the organization, with minimal supervision
- Demonstrate integrity and reliability.
- Ability to deal effectively with pressure, multiple tasks, deadlines, and rapidly changing priorities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with requisite interpersonal skills to partner, collaborate and build relationships with business partners, suppliers, and regional teams
- Proficient in use of Microsoft/ Office (Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability and willingness to travel occasionally
