Cabling Technician
Job Summary
Acquires job skills to resolve routine tasks requiring limited judgement. Focus is on routine tasks, using limited judgement of standard operating procedures. Supports the overall team.
Responsibilities
Cross Connects
- Installs/Tests/Modifies cross connects per SOPs and ensures proper cable management of: coax, fiber, twisted pair copper and intra-building cross connects
- Installs and tests advanced cross connects circuits (switched, multiplexed, etc.)
- Installs and test Data Center Link cross connects using Fluke and JDSU testers
Documentation/Reporting
- Maintains detailed written records of all work activity
Projects
- Supports fulfillment of projects with direction from senior staff
Training
- Completes all assigned training in a timely manner
Customer Management
- Supports customer satisfaction through timely and precise order execution
- Working in conjunction with the Data centre Manager to ensure that intra Data Center Infrastructure Cabling is always available
Qualifications
Essential
- Industry standard cabling qualifications or previous work experience
- PC literate and proficient in all MS office applications with ability to accurately input data
- Able to quickly adapt to new environments, processes and procedures
- Self-motivated and flexible
- Excellent at planning and have good organizational skills
