We are seeking a detail-oriented and Employer Stop Loss Consultant to join our team to help manage EPIC’s growing book of employer stop loss business. This role will be pivotal in assisting clients who self-fund their employee medical plans in managing risk and containing costs. Primary responsibilities will include developing and executing stop loss strategy enterprise wide, managing carrier and vendor relationships and supporting EPIC’s local consulting teams in marketing and managing their stop loss books of business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to support producers and account team with stop loss renewals, conversions, and new business opportunities in the self-funded employee benefit market.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, underwriting, and compliance to create aligned product strategy.
- Assist in vetting vendor effectiveness in order assess impact on customer benefit plans and make recommendations to account teams.
- Help manage national carrier relationships
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, identify opportunities and evaluate the competitive landscape within the employee benefits space.
- Collaborate with our local account teams in managing stop loss or large claim related issues.
- Collaborate with underwriting and actuarial teams to project product pricing and customer costs.
- Assist in stop loss related reporting
- Help track and analyze the performance of marketing efforts to ensure continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years' experience and success in supporting or underwriting self-funded employer benefit plans in a carrier, consulting, and/or brokerage environment
- Track record of success in supporting client relationships
- Proven experience in successfully leading projects and providing high touch client service
- Superior ability to collaborate with clients, vendors, internal colleagues, and work across all levels of an organization
- Ability to work independently and on a team within a fast paced, deadline driven environment
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel, and PowerPoint
- Detail oriented, organized, efficient, and proactive
- Superior written/verbal communication skills – ability to communicate technical concepts using everyday language
- Current Life and Health license in residence state
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent educational training/business experience
- Flexible to work outside of normal working hours in support of clients nationwide
- Travel (as needed) with potential for overnight stays
The national average salary for this role is $105,000.00 to $115,000.00 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
