JOB OVERVIEW:

The Field Director - Loss Prevention is a subject matter expert in loss prevention and provides consultative loss prevention services to clients across the country. 

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • REQUIRED: Candidates with at least 10+ years' experience of loss prevention at a multi-store (and preferably multi-state) level. Loss prevention experience must include (but is not limited to) auditing and training sites, resolving theft/fraud issues, leading & conducting investigations, advising on operational best practices, advising on safety and loss prevention tools/resources, as well as creating and implementing loss prevention programs.
  • Candidates who are motivated self-starters and self-disciplined - this role has a lot of autonomy to coordinate work schedule and tasks, but ideal candidates will be highly organized and able to manage their time, projects, and responses to clients in a prompt and professional manner at all times.
  • Individuals with a strong ability to proactively approach loss prevention and understand how it relates to company profitability, but who also have the ability to lead individuals/teams, and build relationships, to create buy-in for process improvements.
  • Preferred but not required: Certified Forensic Investigator (CFI), retail and warehouse loss-prevention experience.
  • Travel & Location: Candidates willing to travel at least 50% of the time, across the United States. This is a work from home role when not traveling to clients' facilities. Candidates who live in the following geographic areas are strongly preferred, but we're open to well-qualified candidates elsewhere in the U.S.: Charlotte NC, Dallas TX, Houston TX.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

In this role you’ll be the subject matter expert (SME) of loss prevention for multiple EPIC clients. A detailed list of job duties include (but are not limited to):

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manages overall Profit Protection related functions for multiple clients within regional area of responsibility, including multi-state distribution centers and large network of brick and mortar locations.
    • Develops and implements Profit Protection programs which effectively reduce shrink, control cash loss, ensure a safe work environment, and protect all company assets.
    • Develops proactive loss control programs that protect organization’s assets by reducing and preventing different types of losses.
    • Develops strategic partnerships to drive results that enhance company profitability.
  • Facilitates a meaningful internal/external investigation program for all stores/warehouses within assigned regional area.
    • Provides detailed case summaries after interview resolution to properly communicate investigation details to client decision makers.
    • Provides recommendations & support to clients to prevent future loss occurrences.
    • Ensures that trained investigative standards are utilized, including investigation prep, interview, and LPMS documentation to provide high quality of case work.
    • Utilizes company resources and field partnerships to identify and resolve theft/fraud cases.
  • Facilitates a meaningful audit and training program for associates within assigned regional area.
    • Completes, recaps, and reviews all store audits with field management.
    • Completes operational audits within all required warehouses for the fiscal year.
    • Completes Shrink Root Cause Analysis audits. Reviews results with store leadership within high shrink stores.
    • Provides meaningful training within High Shrink Focus Locations and Markets.

Non-Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responds to all business interruptions and external events within a timely manner and effectively communicates with business partners.
  • Liaises with local, state and federal law enforcement authorities and court officials on all matters pertaining to security and Profit Protection.
  • Consults on fraud matters for omni-channel systems and processes across different retail channels and associated functions that can cause shrink and loss; Including, but not limited to: E-commerce, POS systems, inventory management, and cash/credit management.
  • Coordinates effective Profit Protection and safety training with Human Resources, Risk Management, and Store Operations to support client needs.
  • Develops, monitors, and acts on a variety of periodic reports relative to shrink, cash over/short, returned goods, internal and external cases and others, as appropriate.
  • Assists and provides input to Risk Management regarding accident-related reporting.
  • Develops and maintains Company policy and procedures relative to Profit Protection and safety.
  • Performs special projects as assigned.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent, plus a minimum of 10 years of Profit Protection/Asset Protection experience.

  • Able to use strategic thought process to minimize risk exposure to emerging threats and trends.
  • Is a detail-oriented individual with excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintains a strong knowledge of local, state, and federal legal requirements and procedures pertaining to criminal activity.
  • Able to develop and/or interpret complex regulatory requirements and has the ability to communicate technical and complex concepts.
  • Willing to travel across the regional area (multi-state) and to the corporate office.

 

 

COMPENSATION:

The national average salary for this role is $80,000.00 - $115,000.00 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
