We are in search of an experienced Senior Support Engineer with Kafka expertise to strengthen our diverse, global team, which spans continents including Australia, Canada, the USA, Latin America, Europe, Ukraine, and India.
In this capacity, you will play a crucial role in providing L1 on-call support, enhancing, maintaining, and crafting a sophisticated Kafka platform that accommodates over 20 Kafka clusters using the Confluent Platform (Enterprise Edition). You will engage regularly with Kafka developers and various teams, automating and administering platform resources to maximize efficiency and extend functionalities.
The remote option applies only to the Candidates who will be working from any location in Ukraine.

Responsibilities
- Configuration of new Kafka clusters and related components (Kubernetes, HELM, Python)
- Regular monitoring to ensure Kafka platform and its data pipelines are operating optimally
- Addressing and resolving platform concerns to maintain continuous operations and reduce downtime
- Enhancement of Kafka platform components and routine performance improvements
- Evaluation and improvement of cost effectiveness and functionalities of Kafka clusters
- Management of Kafka platform updates to keep pace with technological progress
- Establishment and administration of stringent security protocols for the Kafka platform
- Anticipation and handling of scaling demands of the Kafka platform to accommodate future expansion
- Creation and upkeep of detailed documentation and dissemination of knowledge among team members
- Partnership with Confluent Support teams for intricate problem resolution
- Maintenance and enhancement of existing Infrastructure as Code and Configuration Management automations for Kafka platform management efficiency
- Refinement of onboarding automation scripts and bolstering of Kafka-powered self-service automation
- 3+ years of experience in deploying and managing Confluent Platform with proficiency in Kubernetes, HELM, and CFK
- Kafka-related qualifications such as Confluent Certified Developer or Administrator
- Proficiency in Kubernetes, HELM, Groovy, Python
- Strong analytical and problem-solving proficiencies
- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
- Understanding of GCP and Linux systems
- Proficiency in Python/Shell scripting, automation, and Jenkins pipelines
