Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer

Join EPAM Vietnam as a skilled Ruby on Rails Engineer to maintain and enhance our payment platform.
In this role, you will integrate new payment providers, ensure security, and develop new functionalities. We are looking for someone with strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with global teams. While Ruby on Rails is a core requirement, experience with JavaScript frameworks (React.js, Vue.js, Angular, Node.js) is a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and secure the payment platform, integrating new payment providers
• Develop and enhance functionalities to improve the platform's performance and scalability
• Build and maintain a wide range of APIs and SDKs for checkout logic on BigCommerce or WordPress
• Customize SaaS e-commerce solutions to meet business requirements
• Work with Google Cloud Platform for deployment and infrastructure management
• Collaborate with engineers, product owners, designers, business stakeholders, and external partners
• Follow best practices in security, performance, and maintainability
• Work independently with high productivity while fostering strong team collaboration
• Participation in on-call support rotation is required

• At least 4 years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails
• Intermediate experience with Scala (or a willingness to learn) and PHP 8
• Hands-on experience deploying and managing infrastructure using Google Cloud Platform
• Proficiency with tools such as Prometheus, Sentry, and Kibana
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React.js, Vue.js, or Angular
• Familiarity with Node.js for backend services is a strong advantage
• Excellent English communication skills for collaborating efficiently with cross-functional, global teams
