Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain secure backend services and RESTful APIs
- Build scalable and efficient microservices using Java, Spring, and related technologies
- Write unit tests to ensure robust and reliable code
- Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to maintain high-quality standards
- Participate in SCRUM ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps and QA, to deliver high-quality solutions
- Mentored junior developers and shared best practices to foster team growth
- Participate in the adoption of new technologies, including Kafka and Azure
- Understand and review existing code to ensure proper integration and functionality
- Contribute to continuous process improvement and technology evaluations

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (Master's degree a plus)
- 6+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on backend services and API development
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, and SQL
- Expertise in microservices architecture, design patterns, and event-driven programming
- Proficiency in writing unit tests and applying Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles
- Experience with multithreading, concurrency, and performance optimization
- Familiarity with financial services, especially in wealth management (not mandatory but beneficial)
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and proven ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams
- Willingness to learn and work with new technologies, including Kafka and Azure
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

This posting includes a base salary range EPAM Canada would reasonably expect to pay the selected candidate.
