We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer with strong expertise in Unqork or Appian, as well as hands-on experience with Java, Spring, and backend services. This role will involve working within an Agile environment to deliver high-quality microservices, APIs, and secure backend systems. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior developers, and continuously contribute to the optimization of our development practices.

Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend microservices and REST APIs to meet business needs
- Develop and maintain scalable code using Java, Spring, and related technologies
- Write unit tests to ensure the quality and reliability of the software
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
- Collaborate with DevOps and QA teams to ensure seamless deployments
- Participate in SCRUM ceremonies, including sprint planning and retrospectives
- Mentor junior developers and foster a culture of learning and growth
- Follow best practices, including continuous integration (CI), code quality, and testing standards
- Adapt to new technologies and practices to improve team performance
- Understand and review existing code to ensure proper integration and functionality

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (Master's degree a plus)
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in software development, particularly with backend services
- Strong expertise in Unqork or Appian, with practical experience in low-code development
- Proven experience with Java, Spring Framework, and RESTful API development
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and design patterns
- Basic knowledge of WebLogic or other middleware technologies
- Experienced in unit testing and have a strong understanding of development best practices
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including SCRUM practices
- Knowledge of financial services and wealth management (optional, but a plus)
- Ability to mentor and collaborate in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment

This posting includes a base salary range EPAM Canada would reasonably expect to pay the selected candidate.
