Senior Business Analyst

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Senior Business Analyst to support our efforts in developing a centralized database system for managing the metadata of all data assets.
The Senior Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in bridging business requirements and technical solutions. This position involves working closely with data solution architects, as well as privacy, security, compliance teams, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze data, and provide insights that will influence data-related decisions and strategies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, define, and document business and technical requirements for the data catalog project
• Analyze existing data systems and processes to identify inefficiencies and integration opportunities
• Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications, providing clear direction to the development team
• Develop and maintain core project documentation, including requirement specifications, process diagrams, and data flow maps
• Act as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure alignment on objectives and deliverables
• Provide analytical support by examining data and identifying trends that inform strategic decision-making
• Monitor project milestones, address risks or issues, and propose effective solutions
• Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and training sessions to support change management efforts
• Ensure the seamless integration of new systems within existing workflows and compliance frameworks
• Stay current with industry advancements in data management, metadata standards, and governance best practices
• Drive adoption of the data catalog system through user training and continuous updates based on stakeholder feedback

• Degree in Business, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field
• 3+ years of professional experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role focused on data-driven projects
• Proficiency in using data analysis and project management tools such as SQL, Excel, or Jira
• Expertise in drafting functional/technical specifications and designing process flows or data mappings
• Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and compliance principles, with flexibility to apply them in relevant frameworks
• Skills in analyzing business processes and identifying areas for system integration and optimization
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle competing priorities and complex projects
• Background in collaborating with privacy, security, and compliance teams to ensure alignment on regulatory requirements

• Familiarity with metadata management tools and data catalog platforms
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile environments
• Knowledge of advanced data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
• Capability to work with cloud-based technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Showcase of professional certifications in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) or data-related disciplines
