Security Operations Engineer

Río Grande, Mexico

We are seeking a skilled Security Operations Engineer to join our cybersecurity team.
In this role, you will focus on maintaining and improving our security posture through effective incident response, alert triaging, and the development of security rules and use cases. This position requires a sharp eye for detail, a passion for cybersecurity, and proficiency in a variety of security tools and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Serve on-call every 8th weekend
  • Generate reports for various stakeholders
  • Lead incident responses
  • Triage alerts effectively
  • Develop rule sets and use cases
  • Support the threat intelligence process and contribute to Threat Hunting & TTP
  • Improve SOC/SOAR toolsets
  • Apply advanced analytic tools to identify emerging threat patterns and vulnerabilities
  • Conduct SOC tabletop exercises

  • Proficiency in Splunk, MS Defender, and MS Security
  • Background in asset discovery tools and VirusTotal
  • Knowledge of the MITRE ATT&CK framework
  • Expertise in malware detection, intrusion detection and prevention systems
  • Competency in security monitoring
  • Solid understanding of Windows, Linux, DB, and network device monitoring and logging techniques
  • Familiarity with host and network security hardening, networking protocols, common intrusion techniques, and common risk management concepts
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience in cybersecurity
Nice to have
  • Experience with Tanium or other asset management, patch management, and EDR solutions
  • Proficiency in Qualys, Azure Sentinel, AWS, ServiceNow SecOps, or Sophos
