As part of SAP Basis team, you will be part of the SAP GSO Tech team. Among many others, Basis team is responsible for upgrading the SAP landscape and gradually migrating the on-prem environment to the cloud.

The primary objective of this role is to facilitate the successful execution of SAP landscape technical upgrades and potential infrastructural changes. This involves meticulous planning, strategic prioritization, and effective financial management to ensure efficiency in project delivery.

Concurrently, the SAP Basis Project Manager is responsible for transparently communicating project progress to key stakeholders, providing updates on key outcomes such as timelines, scope, quality, value, and adherence to service level agreements.

The role demands a holistic approach to project management, emphasizing not only technical proficiency but also effective stakeholder engagement and alignment with organizational objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Define the scope of upgrade projects, deliverables, and detailed planning and schedules, in alignment with IT strategy and business requirements
  • Drive project requirements, priorities, and deadlines, actively shaping outcomes rather than solely recording and managing them
  • Produce regular progress reports for key stakeholders in agreed formats and as required
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential issues, and define contingency plans and mitigations
  • Guide project team members in defining support procedures, developing systems requirements, testing, training, and implementing practical business solutions
  • Coordinate IT activities related to SAP change initiatives, including infrastructure, development, interfaces, testing, data load, etc., in collaboration with the global Center-of-Excellence
  • Solve problems, prioritize deliverables, and manage project scope in collaboration with business customers
  • Provide technical and analytical guidance to project members
  • Create clear and attainable project objectives
  • Build project requirements
  • Obtain project validation following Ahold Delhaize governance
  • Coordinate with the Ahold Delhaize project team to formulate demand requests
  • Attend intake meetings to clarify requirements and alignment meetings to ensure project follow-up
Requirements
  • Excellent SAP technical architecture and technical support documentation skills
  • Program and project management expertise following recognized standards such as PMI or equivalent
  • Experience with both waterfall and agile approaches
  • Strong result-driven attitude
  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, coupled with robust interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of SAP Modules (HR, FI, SD, MM, Supply Chain etc.)
  • Knowledge of SAP Components and their relationships (S/4HANA, ERP, BW, PI, SRM, Portal, Cloud, Industry Solutions, etc.)
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity within a changing environment and experience within a matrix organizational structure

  • Education
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or related technical field
  • Master's degree in computer science, Information Technology or related technical field, or master's degree in business administration (preferably - not compulsory)
  • Experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience as a proficient SAP Technical Project Manager in a complex enterprise environment, demonstrating hands-on expertise in project management and successful delivery of SAP initiatives
  • Certifications/ Licenses
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent
