We are looking for a Lead Java Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll focus on enhancing the product offering by improving the user experience and building the necessary capacity to support and advance platform solutions and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software programs and utilities used in the client's company and ensure that the latest software applications for trading related systems run properly
  • Recommend software upgrades for existing systems
  • Review current systems and present ideas for system improvements, including cost proposals
  • Produce detailed specifications and implement the program codes
  • Test the product in controlled situations and rectify any problems before going live
  • Use versioning control systems
  • Maintain the systems once they are up and running

  • BSc/MSc in computer science, engineering or any other relevant degree
  • At least five years' solid work experience in Java development
  • Proficiency in event-driven programming, databases, version control systems and software testing techniques, including unit, integration, system and acceptance testing
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills
Nice to have
  • Background in the financial services industry
  • Knowledge of REST API
  • Skills in AWS services like API Gateway, Kinesis, Lambda functions
  • Understanding of containers (Docker) and orchestration tools like Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with queuing/messaging technologies
  • Experience with Apache Kafka, AWS, Docker, Elastic Stack or Kubernetes
