Responsibilities

  • Work with internal engineering teams to understand their needs and add or improve telemetry data collection in their applications
  • Work with the SRE team to define and set up SLOs and alerting workflows for applications
  • Enhance platform libraries to instrument new telemetry signals
  • Create or enhance platform libraries and related infrastructure to capture telemetry from desktop applications
  • Create or update automated system health checks
  • Design or enhance dashboards used for monitoring and troubleshooting applications

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Java and Linux systems
  • Good to have: experience using one or more of JavaScript, Python, Go, C++, .NET
  • Systems Knowledge: Understanding of system architecture and the ability to work with various observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana (creating dashboards, alerting, integrations), Prometheus (PromQL), and Splunk (creating dashboards, SPL)
  • Good to have: familiar with OpenTelemetry standards, agents, and collectors
  • Analytical Skills: Must be able to analyze telemetry data and help application teams create/improve their monitoring and troubleshooting capabilities
