Lead Java Developer

We are seeking a Lead Java Developer to join our team for a significant project involving the migration of legacy systems to the cloud.
The primary focus will be on transitioning from on-premises solutions to a cloud environment, specifically targeting AWS, while currently utilizing MS Azure as a vendor.
This role offers a hybrid model, with 1-3 days per week working from the client's office in Gdansk or Krakow.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in migration work from legacy systems to cloud infrastructure
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance existing systems and processes
  • Configure and manage SQL Server databases as part of the migration process
  • Participate in testing and support activities to ensure smooth transitions
  • Collaborate on identifying and addressing technical challenges during system migrations

  • 5+ years of experience in software development
  • At least 1 year of relevant leadership experience
  • Experience with Front Office applications (e.g., Charles River, BlackRock Aladdin, or Bloomberg AIM) development is a must have
  • Proficiency in Java
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server and experience with database configuration
  • Experience in support or testing roles, particularly in migration projects
  • Strong English communication skills (B2+ level)
Nice to have
  • Basic knowledge of cloud technologies, particularly AWS
  • Understanding of system redesign and re-architecture principles
  • Familiarity with other programming languages
