Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Cloud Architect to take defined requirements and lead the development of the necessary automation elements to deploy production workloads
  • Provide first tier support for internal and external users
  • Design, install, configure, and maintain cloud resources while developing recovery strategies
  • Monitor and evaluate cloud environments to ensure timely upgrades of IaaS/PaaS and software
  • Ensure fault tolerance, high availability, scalability, and security on GCP
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines with automated build and test systems
  • Manage production deployment using multiple strategies
  • Automate GCP infrastructure and platform deployment with Infrastructure as Code
  • Automate system configurations using configuration management tools
  • Implement microservices concepts and best practices
  • Enable application development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities
  • Address issues promptly and respond positively to setbacks and challenges
  • Carry out POCs to ensure design/technologies meet requirements
  • Quickly learn services used in the environment
Requirements
  • 8 to 12 years of experience with minimum 5 years of production experience on any public cloud
  • Leadership experience and has led teams for at least 2 years
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Thorough understanding of security, networks, and hybrid cloud
  • Good understanding of GCP architecture and deployment architectures
  • Basic understanding of/exposure to SRE
  • Experience with GCP services such as Compute, Storage, Data tools, and Cloud Build
  • Proficiency in GCP Networking fundamentals and Security fundamentals
  • Expertise in container orchestration and container registry - GCR
  • Proficiency in setting up load balancers, auto-scaling, databases, and firewall rules
  • Working knowledge of backup and recovery methodology on GCP
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tooling like Terraform
  • Competency in configuration management tools like Ansible, Packer, or Salt
  • Familiarity with containerization like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Skills in Unix/Linux administration, Unix shell scripting, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Background in cloud migration/modernization using GCP native tools and migration toolset

  • Coding skills in modern languages like Python, Groovy
  • Application development experience
