We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead C++ Developer to join our remote team. As an expert in C++ development and with a strong understanding of cloud technologies, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and testing new functionality for electronic devices. Your responsibilities will also include proposing and executing refactoring within the codebase to enhance design and quality, as well as debugging and resolving defects identified by QA and customers. Additionally, you will collaborate with the eReader team to improve processes and the codebase while sharing your knowledge to foster team growth and learning.

• Design, implement, and test new functionality for electronic devices
• Propose and carry out refactoring within the codebase to improve design and quality
• Debug and fix defects found by QA and customers
• Review code for other developers on the team
• Estimate the effort for future work as an input to planning
• Collaborate within the team on improvements to processes and the codebase
• Share knowledge to help grow other team members and learn from them

• 5+ years of experience as a developer in an Agile environment
• 1+ year or relevant leadership experience
• Strong object-oriented design skills, incorporating design principles and patterns, including hardware awareness such as networking and computer architecture
• Capability to identify and explain trade-offs and rationale, converting final state designs into smaller testable steps
• Expertise in reviewing code and providing constructive feedback to enhance code quality
• Proficiency in modern C++ development best practices, including C++11 or newer
• Experience in developing graphical user interfaces in C++ using Qt or a similar library
• Prior experience with embedded development, preferably on Linux
• Familiarity with multi-threaded applications development, web technologies, automation and controls, IoT, data structures and algorithms, and Linux
• Knowledge of Big O notation, SOLID principles, and Linux kernel awareness
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (C1 level)
